From around mid-May to the end of October, we talk about summer here in Schladming. With the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard you have countless activities free of charge or at reduced prices (such as the cable cars, bus rides, admission to swimming lakes and outdoor pools, and much more) with your stay from the 1st night at Appartementhaus Knaus. But also spring and autumn have their special charm in the mountains.
Hiking
You can start your vacation right in front of the house: The picturesque Wilde Wasser Weg leads through the Untertal, past the Tetter-Moor to the highlight, the Wilde Wasser Steig with suspension bridge, waterfall, thrills and as a reward an idyllic mountain lake. Also in the Obertal, 15 minutes by car from us you can hike to the beautiful Duisitzkarsee. After a 2-hour hike, the gorgeous mountain lake and cozy refreshment stops await you. On hot days, brave hikers jump into the lake to cool off. We will be happy to advise you personally about the most beautiful hiking destinations in our region.
Cycling & Mountain Biking
Also with the mountain bike you can explore the beautiful landscape directly from our house. For those who love action, the Planai and the Reiteralm are equipped with great downhill tracks, pure adrenaline. If you want to borrow bikes or e-bikes in the months of July or August, we recommend you to reserve them: at www.tritscher.at or www.bruendl.at.
Nickel Museum
In the upper valley on the way to the parking lot of the Duisitskar lake you will pass the Nickel Museum - a walk-in glass showcase. You will get acquainted with the mining history of Schladming and learn what the metal is used for today. For the youngest, "Niki", a mountain elf, shows you where there is something to discover in the exhibition especially for children.
Swimming
Whether it's a bathing lake, a mountain lake or a swimming pool, there are countless opportunities to refresh yourself in the region. The most popular are the bathing lake in Pichl, the adventure pool in Schladming, the swimming pool in Haus im Ennstal or the bathing lake in Aich-Assach, but a very special attraction is to hop into one of the countless mountain lakes during a hike (only for hardy guests).

With more than 100 free vacation experiences and over 100 bonus services, the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard is one of the largest inclusive cards in the Alps. It is included for guests from mid-May to the end of October from one overnight stay. The card includes the use of cable cars, bathing lakes and swimming pools, museums and public transport in the region during the stay.
In summer, the region offers attractive adventure mountains for the whole family. Summer card holders can use one ascent and descent with a mountain railroad of their choice every day free of charge as an inclusive service. For hikers, this eliminates long ascents.
